.. “____… ____? … Earth to____.” Levi snapped his fingers in front of your face to snap you out of your daze. “Huh? What? Oh, hi.” “Is everything alright?” His face was blank, as usual, but his eyes were full of concern. “You’ve been staring at that characters idle animations for 10 minutes.” “Really? I zoned out…” you rubbed your face, pressing pause on your game. “I noticed… go get some rest. You look exhausted.” “Says the one who practically never sleeps.” You smile at the huff of a chuckle your husband gives you in response. “I’ll make some tea and bring it to you. Go to bed.” With an amused hum from the man’s carting orders, you get up from your seat and go to your shared bedroom. You pick out some pajamas you like, do your nightly routine, but as your changing into your night clothes, you stop. In the mirror that hangs on the wall you caught a glimpse of yourself. Your gut. Your rolls. Your double chin, stretch marks, sore spots… You see your flaws and you frown, switching pajama shirts to one that’s baggier and hides you before crawling into bed. Soon Levi comes back with two teacups and sets one on your night stand. “Careful not to spill it.” “Thank you, hun.” You sit up, drinking the tea he always makes to help both of you insomniacs to get some sleep. “… Levi…?” Levi hardly heard you say his name so quietly. “Yes dear?” “Why did you pick me…?” “What do you mean?” You frown and look at him seriously. “Why did You; a perfect man that women used to throw themselves at, choose to marry me; a fat, ugly, spoiled brat who can’t do anything right?” Tears welled in your eyes as you spoke, trying to wipe them away before he would see, but to no avail. “Girls everywhere are skinny with perfect skin and hair… While I… I…” Levi frowned and set his cup down, taking yours and moving it as well before holding your hand. “Look at me.” He demanded, but you shook your head. “____… look me in the eyes.” With a bit of upset sniffling you lifted your head to look at him, a cheek being cupped by his strong hand and you immediately lean into it. “You are not fat. You are not ugly. You are a brat because I spoil you because I love you.” He said firmly. “A woman isn’t just a body. They’re a person. I love you as a person. I love your smile… they are called ‘love handles’ so a reason.” You scoff but can’t hide a bit of a chuckle. “It always goes to sex with you…” “Because you please me and I want to always please you.” He continued. “Whatever shape you are, I wouldn’t have married you if I didn’t want to see all of you.” You sigh softly and lean forward onto his chest as he wraps his arms around you as if to protect to. “… you don’t normally talk this much.” “I guess my actions toward you haven’t spoken loud enough.” He hummed in response. “Maybe… but thank you.” You hug his waist, sighing at the feeling of him placing a kiss on your head. “I love you.” “Mhm… I’m serious about the love handles.” Levi gently squeezes one of the rolls on your side, a smirk gracing his lips at the sound of your giggle.
